En 1999, ils sont en rivalité avec Edge et Christian et rejoignent Gangrel pour former le clan The New Brood. Au No Way Out 1999, les Hardy défont Edge et Christian dans un First ever Tag team Ladder match.

Ils ont eu six fois l'occasion d'être WWF Tag Team champions. En 2000, les Hardy trouvent un nouveau valet, Lita (une amie). Ensemble, les trois sont appelés Team Xtreme. Le 27 avril, il bat son frère Matt Hardy pour le titre Hardcore et devient pour la première fois champion hardcore.
